Spring is in the air

We are spreading 15 yards of bark this weekend... and I love it! Can't wait to get started on all of the projects we have lined up. Finish one and on to the next.

Last night we took a break to have fun with the family. We had a pizza picnic on the floor and then made glow in the dark easter eggs. Aren't they incredible?! My 2 year old did them all. *Tip: if you put the egg inside a wisk it's pretty easy for them to handle!

This is exactly what we used.
Florescent paint
Black light
Vinegar

Easy right?

Mix about a tablespoon of paint with a tablespoon of warm water. You can eyeball this! Then I mixed in 1/4 cup of vinegar. The paint will separate but don't worry. Then dip from bowl to bowl. We did it while the black light was on so we could see the magic unfold.  By the way I'm throwing out the eggs when we are done since we used paint!

If you need a quick and elegant salad this weekend, throw this one together with strawberries, feta cheese and sugared walnuts. My favorite dressing is raspberry walnut from Ken's Steak house brand.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend. May you be blessed!!

Friday Giveaway!!

You know those days that you realize you haven't showered in 3 days and you have no idea how to accomplish that with a crazy toddler and a 6 month old... I had one of those yesterday. Thank heavens for the laundry basket!  Kept him safe from crazy toddler and in one spot!

It's been awhile since I've done a giveaway and I'm really sorry about that.  Things have been hectic and time has flown by since we moved.  I've been desperately trying to get our baby on a bottle with no luck.  Not because of the bottle, but because he refuses to drink milk or formula from a bottle. Water or juice, not a problem.  Little stinker.  In the process of buying EVERY bottle and sippy cup on the market, we came across the Lansinoh Natural Wave after it was suggested to us by another momma.  Man is this bottle cool!
Founded by a breastfeeding mom, Lansinoh truly understands the challenges facing nursing moms today. That's why we create best-in-class products and offer a variety of support solutions to help you and baby along the way.

Easy St. Patrick's Day Treats

We made up about 4 dozen of these gourmet pretzel rods this weekend for Mr. H to hand out to clients.  We made several kinds but my favorite was the Andes Mints ones!  So delicious and quick and easy.  You can get the mints in bits just for baking at the grocery store.  We also rolled some in mini Reece's Pieces but those disappeared before getting packaged....

I use the Ghirardelli melting wafers as I think you should use the best tasting chocolate! I melted the chocolate and poured in a tall beer glass.  Then dipped all of my pretzels!  When I was done I sprinkled the toppings on top.  I melted white chocolate, added a drop of food coloring and poured it into a ziploc bag.  Snipped the corner and drizzled the chocolate on top. It took less time then it did for my husband to find the NCAA channel on our new Foxfire TV... THAT's FAST. I just printed up some cute tags that I found here and tied them on.  I love spreading a little smile whenever I can.

Monday Morning Recipe

It's amazing how you can give a toddler the same breakfast 100 times and hear, "but I don't WANT it."  Then stick that same breakfast on a stick and "this is the BEST breakfast EVER mom!"  I just got the mini eggos with a slather of Nutella and added a slice of banana and strawberry.  Your welcome.

I've been looking for quick and easy recipes (that are still healthy) since with two kiddos on the loose, cooking dinner has become a really hard task.  There have been disasters people... very... bad... disasters.

This Cashew Chicken recipe done in the Slow Cooker is a win win!  I can dump it in at lunch time and forget about it.  I just added a bowl of broccoli to go along with it for more veggies and it was delicious.

The weather is S L O W L Y getting better so we are spending as much time as possible outside.  Of course we've been feeding the nosy neighbors and looking at nature in a whole new way!  We have been seriously considering getting chickens and will definitely do it by next spring if not sooner. This city girl is goin' country!

Have a great week everyone.

Lucky Wednesday

This weekend we made some chocolate frosted donuts at the request of a little person.  These are deliciously baked bites of goodness and I kid you not, take 20 minutes from start to finish.  Well worth it. You can find the recipe here.

Starting to think about all things green since St. Patrick's Day is next week. Trying to come up with something for my husband to take to the office.  In the meantime I'll share some cute printables for the occasion with the links provided below.

I'm still desperately trying to get the baby to take a bottle with absolutely no luck... ha luck.  How appropriate.
