Weekend Recap

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!  Darlene C. is the winner of the Hello Goodbye shirt.  Stay tuned for more great giveaways coming up...

This weekend we went to a friends birthday party and baby J had fun meeting up with the other babies.  This photo melts my heart.

Daddy and Baby J spent more time outside playing with chalk, mostly Baby J spent time trying to eat the chalk and dad was playing but they all had a good time!

This is our first full week without daddy being home.  Keeping my fingers crossed that things go smoothly.  Hubby was gone on Saturday for 24 hours and by Sunday she was asking for him.  And of course we are getting ANOTHER tooth in so I spent most of the night holding her in a chair. Great way to start off a difficult week.

Ready for the Weekend

I'm so ready for this weekend to get started.  I've been having trouble blogging lately as I seem to be on an emotional rollercoaster.  My husband is going to be opening an office in another city, which means it will be just baby J and I during the week. This will go on for months.

I try not to think about it but sometimes it consumes my thoughts.  Yes we'll get through it but I don't want to. He's my best friend. He calms me down when things aren't going well. How will I handle everything alone? Not to mention only really talking to a 1 year old.... who's vocabulary consists of saying "Dat" ALL THE TIME.

We are going on our second big date this weekend.  WHAT!?  Yes, you read that correctly. My husband and I have been on one other big date since baby J was born. We just don't have the family support system like a lot of our friends do.  There is no dropping her off at the grandparents house for a Friday night dinner.  Hiring a babysitter for a weekly date is out of the question when you're paying $10 an hour plus dinner.

When you don't have that alone time, it can be REALLY hard on a new marriage with a baby.  So with the hubby moving out next week... well you can imagine my heart feeling broken. I also have a lot of anxiety over what Baby J will go through.  It will be just as hard on her not having daddy around for cuddles and pillow fights.  But... we will survive.

I just keep repeating... if you never go through the storm, how would you ever find the rainbow?

Weekend Recap

We had a fabulous weekend.  It started Friday evening when I got home from work and found that the baby had slept until 4:30!  We decided to head out to a winery for a glass of wine and play in their big grass yard.  We didn't know they had hens and roosters!  One hen in particular had a complete fascination with Baby J.  It MIGHT have been the animal crackers she was eating...

Daddy had to protect her for awhile until we realized the Hen wasn't going to hurt her!  I was ready to have chicken for dinner!

Saturday we headed to the other side of Mount Rainier for some hiking.  We went to Grove of the Patriarchs and Silver Falls.  It was a magical day complete with a crazy thunder/rain storm during our hike!  It just added to the adventure.

My only question is, why can't the weekends be just a bit longer?

Mountains and Mosquitos

We decided to hike up around Mount Rainier this weekend with the babe. After going the wrong direction up a mountain (the one we were suppose to hike AROUND) we got on the right path and had a nice 3 hour hike.  Baby J was waving, singing and saying hi to every person we passed.

While I was smart and wore a sweatshirt hoping not to get bit by the swarms of mosquitos, I took off my sweatshirt before getting in the car to leave... and I have at least 30 bites on my arms.  I have a pretty severe reaction to bites so I'm now covered in hives.  No, its' not pretty...

Now if you'll please excuse me, I really need to go scratch myself.

Playground for Adults

Its so nice to have a reason to be a kid again. Mr H and I along with the babes spent the morning at a local playground. I would be lying if I said it was for our kid and not for ourselves. I found myself climbing and hanging on the toys and then glancing around to see if anyone was going to report me to the playground police. Let's just say we ALL had a great time. Can't wait for her to be a LITTLE bit older to really enjoy the toys.

Weekends

We spent the entire weekend outside.  This is what happens when daddy is bored...

Saturday we spent out in the yard playing on a slip and slide... which I can't show you pictures because she was in the buff for most of the day, although I did take a ton of pictures!  We are battling a teething diaper rash, hopefully that tooth comes out today or tomorrow, its RIGHT THERE... I hate teething.

Sunday we met some friends at the pool and had a great time.  Her friend's name is Zoe.

Summer is HERE!

So this weekend we did alot of fun things... including an event with several of the Seattle Seahawks players... but more on that tomorrow.

Friday was a beautiful day and we met "grandpa" at a local brewery to play out on the lawn with Jessy.

I made Jessy her first egg salad sandwich!  Which she decided to wear instead of eat....

And since the weather is so hot she opened one of her birthday presents early and got to play with her water table last night! Yes that is spaghetti sauce all over her face. I swear she got a bath later.

Butterfly

We had a nice weekend, went to the park with a blanket for an hour on Saturday.  Of course I had to take some pictures of baby J.  She is getting a little personality and we just can't get enough of her.

Weekend Fun

We had a busy weekend with yard work, our FOURTH tooth coming in and of course March Madness.  We finally got to relax a little out in the sunshine.  We went to the park, visited our favorite winery for a few sips, then off to eat some BBQ (Daddy let the munchkin try some and then couldn't get her off of his plate) and we wrapped up the day with a blanket in the yard and a walk at Sunset.

Jessy likes to stick her hands in daddy's drink and then wonders why her hand is cold...

I can't wait to paint those little toes! I'm sure that will be an event in itself!

Sunshine

This weekend we spent an afternoon feeding the ducks, then went to visit friends and played on the lawn at a winery.  The weather was beautiful.  We took walks in the morning and played on blankets in the grass every day while enjoying the sunshine.

We also did a lot of yard work getting ready for summer.  It can't come soon enough!

Hiking and Ravioli

This weekend we finally had good weather and went for a little hike in the Canyon. We tested out the new kid carrier we got.  It's a Dueter Kid Comfort II and its fantastic!  As you can see by the pictures, Jessy was laughing the first 20 minutes of the hike, then promptly fell asleep for the rest!  She LOVED it.

The pack is made by a German company that specializes in kid carriers.  They think of everything with this pack, including a pillow (which Jessy did not use this time because apparently the strap was a better idea) and they even have a teddy bear tucked into its own carrier.  It fits both Mike and I with little adjusting. This is going to get a lot of miles out of it, especially because when traveling anywhere by plane we will take this instead of a stroller.

Afterward we gave baby J ravioli for the first time.  Talk about a mess!  But very much worth it to see her happy face.
